I got laid off from a postion with a geology dept. at a major university.?

I was a geology technician for 16 years and I have an ociates degree in Environmental Geology. I also have an ociates in Fish and Wildlife Mgmt. I have 4 years of college in Natural Resources. I can't seem to find jobs in other areas where I can transfer my skills. Employers are being too specific about what skills they want. The Natural Resource/Geology jobs are becoming scarce as they are now requiring Masters degree for the same jobs I was doing. I am 58 years old and I don't think going back to school is an option for me. By the time I get my B.S. degree I will be retiring. Are there any jobs out there for someone with my background and experience?
